March 3rd Officer Brandy Roell Retires

On Thursday March 3, 2011, Officer Brandy Roell retired from the San Antonio Police Department. Officer Roell was involved in an incident in which she was critically wounded just days graduating the San Antonio Police Academy.

Although Brandy has retired, due to her injuries, she will still be an integral part of our department and recruiting. The San Antonio community has no idea what an outstanding officer they will not have a chance to get to know. Brandy is credited for her heroism and her WARRIOR MINDSET in what seemed an impossible situation in which 2 fellow officers at the scene survived because of her ability to think her way out of it. Her tenacity to survive enabled Officer Pete Garcia to access her and pull her to safety while the suspect was still actively shooting.
